September 12. Rally Sunday Rev. Mary Katherine Morn preaching on
“To be a Religious Community.” This service wil explore what it means to be a religious community and hear the challenge of Jesus to “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.”
September 19. The Rev. Jay Stearns preaching on “First Things First.” Moses' life is a wonderfully clear presentation of the truth that a lot of preparatory work goes into whatever one's sense of calling is. And yet, as Moses' experience shows us, the so-called “preparation” really is all part of his life journey. It's not a matter of going through “this” before getting on to "that.” Rev. Stearns is a pastoral counselor and friend of Universalist National Memorial Church. Please help us welcome him back to our pulpit.
12:45 p.m. Brief meeting of the Welcome & Membership Committee to discuss the priorities set at the “Quick Start” workshop Sept. 11. All are welcome to attend.
Saturday, September 25, 8:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. – “Listening Skills for Congregational Caregivers” workshop at UNMC.
September 26. Rev. Morn preaching on “Yom Kippur: Naked Heart Revealed.” In the previous week Jews celebrated the Days of Awe, culminating with Yom Kippur. This holy time of prayer and repentance is an opportune moment for us to consider the possibilities of forgiveness.
12:45 p.m. Meeting to discuss formation of a worship committee. If you are interested in worship at UNMC and would like to be a part of this discussion, please join us.
