Sunday, August 6
10:30 a.m. Worship: “Walking Together in the Spirit” What does it mean for a congregation to call a minister?  What are the opportunities and challenges that a new ministry presents?  Rev. Dr. Richard Speck, District Executive of the Joseph Priestley District of the UUA, leads this service to welcome Rev. Lillie Henley to the UNMC pulpit.

Noon - Welcome & Membership Committee meeting. All are welcome to attend.

Monday, August 7
7 p.m. Board of Trustees monthly meeting. All are welcome to attend.

Sunday, August 13
10:30 a.m. Worship:  “Be Imitators of God and Live in Love,” Rev. Henley preaching. How do we treat others -- the others who are our family, our sisters and brothers at church, our co-worker, and even those people whose paths we cross, but do not know? No one is a perfect mate, parent, friend, or acquaintance, and no one expects us to be perfect; nevertheless, there are guidelines that can help us demonstrate how much we cherish our relationships and our humanity.

Wednesday, August 16
7:30 p.m. Worship Committee monthly meeting. All are welcome to attend.

Saturday, August 19
Leland Place dinners. Meet at 3:00 p.m. at UNMC and cook the dinner, then take it to Leland Place and eat with the residents.

Sunday, August 20
10:30 a.m. Worship: “Discernment Leads to Wisdom,” Rev. Henley preaching. We want to be wise. We want others to see us as a source of strength, someone on whom they can depend. Wisdom is more than the number of years we have or making “good decisions.” Wisdom, according to the ancients, is achieved through discernment, the thoughtful consideration of all things involved.

Noon -- Small group discussion of new draft Declaration of Faith.

Sunday, August 27
10:30 a.m. Worship: “Our Struggle Is Not Against Enemies,” Rev. Henley preaching. What is our struggle as a people and as a person? Can discovering our purpose, claiming our path be what the struggle is all about? Our spiritual and religious journey offers us inspiration and tools to create a path that affirms our highest calling.

Noon -- Small group discussion of new draft Declaration of Faith.
