8:30 a.m. Community outreach: Meet at the church to prepare apple cider to share with neighbors. Starting at 9 a.m., we will serve cider at the dog park on New Hampshire at 17th Street.

11 a.m. Worship: First Sunday in Advent
“Jesus Has Come”: And who among us proclaims the Word? Rev. Henley preaching

7 p.m. Advent study: We are reading the book What's So Amazing About Grace? by Philip Yancey and discussing it on the first three Sunday evenings of Advent.

12:30 p.m. Interested in the ministry that takes place through this web site? Meet at the church to discuss the possibilities. All are welcome.

Sunday, December 10
11 a.m. Worship: Second Sunday in Advent
“That Your Love May Overflow,” Rev. Henley preaching: Jesus brought with him into the world a love that had no limits. How can this be?

12:30 p.m. “Hanging the Greens” in the sanctuary. Please stay after the hospitality hour to help.

After worship and hospitality, please join us for a visit to the the “Bible before 1000 A.D.” exhibit at the Sackler Gallery, 1050 Independence Ave. SW, Washington, DC 20560.

Last day for donations to the “mitten tree” -- scarves, mittens, and toiletries.

7 p.m. Advent study (see Dec. 3)

Christmas is about hope and joy and wondrous hymns and carols. Our youth and our children will share the delightful stories of some Christmas favorites. “Peace on Earth,” homily by Rev. Henley

11 a.m. Worship: Fourth Sunday in Advent
“Mary and Elizabeth, the Women of Jesus’ Birth,” Rev. Henley preaching a sermon honoring the feminine aspect of God.

7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Worship: Candlelight Lessons & Carols

Monday, December 25
Noon Worship: Christmas Day Communion, open to all

Sunday, December 31
11 a.m. Worship: “The Last Day of the Year” For what do we have the most gratitude? For what do we feel the most challenged? A collaborative service with Rev. Henley preaching.
