This is our first annual "Service of Our Living Tradition," during which we will recognize births, deaths, new members, and the "Minister's Volunteer of the Year." We also will celebrate communion; all are welcome to participate.

11 a.m. Worship: Rev. Henley and deacon Perry King look at the work of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in the context of the second Unitarian Universalist principle -- to affirm and promote 'justice, equity, and compassion' in human relations.

3 p.m. Monthly dinner cooked at the church and delivered and enjoyed with the residents of Leland Place.
Sunday, January 21
11 a.m. Worship: "Prophets Called to Fight (and Fail)." Our guest preacher is Amanda Poppei, ministerial intern at River Road Unitarian Church. We often feel called to take stands on moral issues. What happens, though, when we are standing for a lost cause? Are those stands worth taking? Poppei explores the spiritual and moral imperatives that call us to witness, to fight, and sometimes to fail.

11 a.m. Worship: "We Are All Called," Rev. Henley preaching. James Luther Adams, 20th century Unitarian Universalist theologian, said we are all prophets and priests, each in our own way.
