See flowers blossoming in the summer fields
And understand the passion
Each one has to grow. (Gwen Frostic)
Summer is here and for a few weeks or a few months many of us will have respite from our usual routines. We will go to the shore, or mountains, or even the desert. At church yesterday, two people told me they are going to New England for the summer.
We will “catch and miss” each other this summer, being away and in town at different times. It will be joyous to see each other on our return and hear about each other’s holidays and vacations.
At the end of July and the first week in August I will be taking a week of professional development and a week of vacation. For a week I will be doing a solitary retreat of prayer and meditation. Then I’ll visit my niece and her new baby. Just want to check out my sister’s story that he’s the cutest little grandbaby ever!
My hope is you will have the opportunity to make memories and create wonderful stories for yourself and your families this summer.
Whatever you do, wherever you go, keep in mind, you are missed. And when we gather for our Sunday services, we will lift each other up in God’s care.
Have a great summer, see you in church!
