Rally Sunday with Picnic on the Grounds
11 a.m. Worship: What Is the Cost of Our Relationship with God?
What do we leave behind when we follow Jesus' teaching? Is anything ever free? Is there any relationship to the cost and to Buddha's practice of non-attachment? Rev. Henley preaching.

Sunday, September 16
11 a.m. Worship: Do we recognize our Universalist heritage when we read the Bible?
Looking for the Lost Sheep is the classic example of our Universalist religion. Rev. Henley's sermon today will emphasize the grace-filled life we are offered and the challenges of living our Universalist heritage.

After service: Worship Committee Meeting to plan September 30th service. Come share your favorite hymn with the committee or contact the office. All are welcome.

Sunday, September 23
11 a.m. Worship: Lord's Prayer Service
How many different ways are there to say the Lord's prayer? What is the meaning for us as a church and as individuals? Is Jesus Prayer Meaningful Today? Especially to those of us who are gender-conscious?

Saturday, September 29
Liberal Religious Revival, a day-long event at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax. This second annual event will draw about 200 UUs from the nine Northern Virginia congregations.

Sunday, September 30
11 a.m. Worship: Hymnal Sunday
The worship committee is planning a service centered on our congregational hymns. Music, more than anything else, touches our hearts in the blink of an eye. We want our music here at UNMC to make a difference in all our lives. If you have a favorite hymn, send it to Lisa Harris.

After service: "Get to know UNMC" class; lunch provided.

8 p.m.: Let Our Lives Be Music celebrates Spanish and Ibero-American composers. José Luis Sánchez presents the second of his excellent programs at the church.

Saturday, October 13
4 p.m., JUUbilee, All Souls Church, Unitarian
Unitarian Universalists from 27 Baltimore-Washington area congregations will join together in worship to celebrate the social justice legacy of A. Powell Davies and the 50 years of UU growth he helped spark in the region.

November 1-4
Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship Revival, Cleveland
This years UUCF Revival will feature Biblical scholar Rev. John Dominic Crossnan, presenting three lectures on the world, mission, and message of the Apostle Paul. There is a discount on the full registration fee if you register before Oct. 1.
