Sunday, February 1
11 a.m. worship: Rev. Henley will be preaching “And the Evil Spirit Screamed.” When we are most comfortable with ourselves, something happens, something screams at us to upset our way of life—a loss, a death, a drastic change in work, or even an unexpected transition. But it doesn’t seem “convenient” right then.
Sunday, February 8
11 a.m. worship: “Black Poetry Day.” Collaborators in the service will read from the works of poets and the pianist or the saxophonist will respond with an improvisation. The words and music will touch our spirits as we celebrate Black Heritage and African-American History Month. Rev. Henley has facilitated this service in several congregations and she says, “Don’t miss this one!”
6 - 9 p.m. Perkins Hall: Support the people of Gaza
Join us at UNMC as Perry King and Marti Martinson host our second benefit for United Palestinian Appeal to provide emergency humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. They are desperately in need of food, clothing, medicine, shelter, and counseling after the devastation of the recent Israeli bombing and ground campaign. All proceeds will go to UPA, an American based 501c3 charity focusing its programs on relief for Gaza.
Suggested donation $5-$20, but no one turned away due to lack of funds.
