11:00 a.m. worship: Rev. Relland preaching. Are you post-Christian? After President Obama's election, a label floated around claiming our society as “post-racist.”  Michael Relland, our intern minister, asks us if we are “post-Christian.” Our culture is so rooted in Christianity, we will reflect on what part of those roots we hold dear and what we would like to get past.

Monday, April 27
6:30p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Church Parlor: Survivor Corps is a global network of conflict survivors that rebuilds community to break cycles of victimization and violence. During the Genocide Prevention month of April Survivor Corps is collaborating with the Rwandan Embassy and others to deliver events that speak about the urgency to rise above conflict that has divided nations in the past and to rebuild relationships in those communities. Six conflict survivors share their stories of strength and resilience: Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, Palestinian obstetrician who lost three of his daughters during the conflict in Gaza last January; Elmina Kulasic, Executive Director of the Bosniak American Advisory Council; Nomika Zion, Program director at the Van-Leer Jerusalem Institute's Center for Social Justice; Albert Gasake, Founder of an organization that supports the youth of Rwanda; Janvier Mujulibu, Founder of an organization that supports Rwandan child headed households; Geraldine Umutesi, Founding member of the Kigali Memorial Center; Iain Guest, Executive Director of the Advocacy Project and adjunct professor at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, where he teaches human rights.
