5:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m.: UNMC will host a reception for the new president of the Unitarian Universalist Association, Rev. Peter Morales. The reception will be in Perkins Hall with parking behind the Scottish Rite Freemason Temple.
The occasion for Morales’ visit to Washington is congressional lobbying on October 10 and the National Equality March, Sunday, October 11.

11:00 a.m. worship: “Is Gay Marriage Plan B?” If you are for gay marriage then you must be standing on the side of love. How deeply into our culture do we have to look for changes, so that our young people grow up well-adapted and healthy?
1:30 p.m. - Join others from UNMC at 12:30 to go to the National Equality March downtown. The UU Meeting place for the Rally (on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol) will be on the left-hand side as you're facing the stage. Look for the giant yellow "Standing on the Side of Love" banner and the sea of yellow T-shirts.

9:00 a.m. - Church “Spruce-Up” Day –Join us to do some light gardening to spruce up our grounds, and a little painting inside. Rev Henley will provide lunch. RSVP to Catherine Robbins or the church office.

11:00 a.m. worship: A historical recognition of Owen D. Young, who was born October 27, 1874, and for him our tower is named. An interesting look at Young’s contributions to peace and justice.
12:30 p.m. after the service: Fellowship with the Young Adults at UNMC at the Steam Cafe. The address is 1700 17th Street NW, Washington DC 20009. Bring your ideas, vision, and aspirations to this time of food, fellowship, and fun. We will be discussing the course of the Young Adult Ministry Programs here at UNMC and ways to reach out to sister congregations.
