Rev. Ron Robinson
Our experiences shape our worldviews; our worldviews shape our cultural institutions, including our churches. How is a Quantum age (sometimes called postmodern age) different from the Modern Age, and how is that affecting our spiritual lives and churches, and "UU Christianity?"
THEOLOGY TRACK: Theological Foundations of Christian Pluralism
Rev. Tom Schade
Many liberal Christians intuitively adopt a pluralist stance in regards to other religions. Yet, most of the Christian tradition holds the exclusivist view that it is only through Christ is anyone saved. This workshop will explore the theological strategies used by Christian pluralists to reconcile our pluralist ethics with traditional theology.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICE: Praying the Psalms
Rev. Dr. Anita Farber-Robertson
The Psalms can be a source of comfort and affirmation, when we find our own thoughts and feelings echoed. God does know and understand us. The Psalms can be a door opening passageways between us, inviting us into the experience of another which is different from our own. Through them the God of love can bring us to compassion. The Psalms can be a challenge to us, confronting us with emotions we would rather not acknowledge. Praying the Psalms offers a discipline and a structure through which to walk, in full humanity and humility, with our God. Come, pray the Psalms together.
SMALL GROUP MINISTRY: Worship Resources
UNMC Liturgists
How is liturgy "done" in a present-day Universalist church, what sources are used, and what purposes does it serve, particularly when there is no common prayerbook to speak of? Our host church's lay liturgists discuss their very different styles that give voice to this process, emphasizing how "begging, borrowing and stealing" from the best, adapting, recomposing, and rewriting, or perhaps starting from scratch as necessary, yields the best product. Although in some respects peculiar to UNMC, their efforts to construct and deliver opening sentences, calls to worship and invocations as lay people around a common theme, as well as their work for special services, would no doubt be a great use to any group, small or large, interested in worship which is at once traditional yet flexible and sometimes highly idiosyncratic.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: Considering Boy-Friendly Religious Education for Youth
Explore how our congregations are already effectively inclusive of adolescent males and ways they might become more so. Bring issues and ideas from your own experience in this realm. Workshop leaders are Jaco ten Hove (co-minister at Paint Branch UU Church in Adelphi, MD, and president of the UU Men's Network) and Janice Holmblad (Lay Minister of Education at the UU Congregation of Fairfax, VA, and experienced youthworker).

This workshop will focus on discernment through Scripture, discipline and community and how Unitarian Universalists have and might join this joyous struggle.
SEEKERS: How Did I Get Here? Where Am I Going?.. Our journeys to Jesus.
Rev. Dr. Anita Farber-Robertson
Spiritual Pilgrimage, Christian Walk, Faith Journey…these words are about faith that is obviously in motion. What is not explicit, but just as crucial, is that they are words about companionship. We do not walk alone. In private prayer and in common worship, always we are part of the wider community of faith whose lives and stories support our own. Come. It is too good a story to keep to yourself. Come. It is too precious a journey to do all alone. Come together to share, reflect on and pray your faith journey to Jesus.
