Pastor David Gatton has a long affiliation with the Universalist National Memorial Church before assuming his current position in ministry. He was married in the Church, served two five-year stints as Moderator, worked on various committees, and periodically graced the pulpit. Dave has been involved in many community projects including currently serving as the Scholarship Committee Chair of Friends of Ballou High School in the District. Dave received his B.A. from Cornell College and his Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School.
Darryl Winston, Director of Music, is himself something of a Washington music institution. He has conducted, directed or been a featured baritone soloist in nearly 200 different opera, operetta or musical theater productions. Mr. Winston is also a recognized historian of American musical theater, whose studies have ranged from the works of Victor Herbert up to the present day. His singing teachers have included such legendary performers as Jennie Tourel, George London and Augusta Wilsonne. Most recently Mr. Winston has become the Artistic and Managing Director of the Washington National Wagner Society. Mr. Winston has been the DC Chapter President of the Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy Club. Mr. Winston is also no stranger to film and TV, having served as both actor and historian.
Michael Kyrioglou joined UNMC in summer 2024 as our Office Administrator, handling the weekly Order of Worship and UNMC e-News, plus various administrative duties including wedding inquiries. He is a 39-year veteran of the Washington, DC theatre community in communications, publicity and theatre relations. Currently working with UNMC resident company Spooky Action Theater, plus the Washington Stage Guild, Rorschach Theatre, and Edge of the Universe Theater, he previously worked with the arts service organization theatreWashington/Helen Hayes Awards, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, and Arena Stage, plus a number of years with the Consumer Electronics Shows. Director of the Washington, DC Film Society, a membership group associated with Filmfest DC, Michael is a DC resident since 1981, and graduate of George Washington University.
