This week marks Holy Week, when we prepare for the celebration on Easter Morning of Life Everlasting. We come to proclaim before the people our faith that life is more than the beginning, middle and end of life on earth. It is a great mystery that we can imagine eternity, even though our minds cannot grasp it. And so we create wonderful myths to take us to another realm—mythical stories of truth and transcendence that make our lives “real.” Join us for Easter, and as the 116th Psalm proclaims, “come to proclaim your vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.”
From the 116th Psalm:
116:1 I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my supplications.
116:2 Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
116:12 What shall I return to the LORD for all his bounty to me?
116:13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD,
116:17 I will offer to you a thanksgiving sacrifice and call on the name of the LORD.
116:18 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,
116:19 in the courts of the house of the LORD, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!
See you Easter Morning when we will celebrate “Resurrection Life.”
